SEVEN PROPHETICAL DAYS IN SCRIPTURE
God has revealed Himself to man in two ways. First there is which is His general revelation. It is known by beholding all that God has wrought by His hand. Secondly, there is His special revelation. It is known by beholding all that God has written by His Spirit. Insight into God’s omniscience and omnipotence can be gained by a study of creation (Romans 1:20). Also many excellent books written about God will assist in the desire to know more about Him. If your desire runs deeper---if you want to know God rather than just know about Him--- you must read the Bible. God has given us the Bible so that we can see clearly things which God hates (Psalms 5:5, Proverbs 6:16-19) and those things which are near to His heart (Jeremiah 31:3). Books about God can be helpful, depending upon their author; but no book is able to replace the Bible.

The following is a study based upon the significance of prophetical days that can be found in scripture. "Days" in scripture can refer to several things: a twenty-four hour period (Genesis 1:5-31), a period of judgment (Isaiah 2:20; 19:18) and sometimes a thousand year period (II Peter 3:8). These days are references to periods of time and to events. They are days God has marked on His calendar!
"Are thy days as the days of man? are thy years as man's days," (Job 10:5)
I. THE DAY OF SALVATION

"(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
(II Corinthians 6:2)
This day is referred to as the Age of Grace or the Church Age. It came about by the death of Jesus Christ for sins and His burial and resurrection according to the scriptures. These events provide the most wonderful and powerful message of the age---The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Faith in His shed blood for the cleansing of sins brings about the permanent abode of the Holy Spirit within one and everlasting life for the believer. "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners..." and thus began the great and blessed Day of Salvation!
How is one saved? It is as easy as this - God has already provided the Savior; you provide Him with the sinner. II Corinthians 6:2 says, "Now is the day of salvation". It has been misquoted as "today is the day of salvation" which destroys the doctrinal significance of the word "Now." When should sinners yield to the bidding of the Holy Spirit and receive Jesus Christ as their Savior? Now! When should ministers lay aside their selfish ambitions, worldly distractions, and besetting sins and preach unashamedly the gospel of Christ? Now! When should all Christians repent of their lukewarm prayer lives, lacking Bible devotions, faithless church attendance, and cold indifferent hearts and arise and become "watchmen" winning the lost to Jesus Christ? Now! When should churches repent of their promotional gimmicks and programs, and financial waste, and support missions? Now! When should men and women present themselves as living sacrifices to the end of carrying the gospel to this lost and dying world? NOW!
If ever there were a time to "redeem the time", it is NOW. If ever men should see house-to-house visitation is more redeeming than going to sporting events, they should see it NOW. If ever Christian men and women should get up off of the couch, hang up the phone, turn off the TV set and pray earnestly and fervently for the unsaved, our churches, pastors, evangelists, missionaries, families, and governments - it is NOW. Now is the time preachers should perform the duty to which they were called. Now is the time deacons should get busy doing what the church laid them aside to do. Now is the time Christians should quit maliciously trying to hinder God's preachers through gossiping, complaining, or lying about them, and instead should love, pray for, and assist them in their duties. Now is the time the unchurched should quit putting forth a horrible testimony by making silly, weak, and failing excuses for laying out of church and get themselves active in the house of God (I Timothy 3:15). Now is the time for Christians who attend a church for reasons such as "it's our "family church", or "it makes me feel good", or "it's the closest one to our home’ should seek God’s face about His choice of a church for them. These Christians should attach themselves to a local assembly of believers where the AV 1611 King James Bible is held as the inerrant, infallible, inspired, perfectly preserved word of God. Christians need to associate themselves and be with brethren in a New Testament church who are active in witnessing, tract passing, and financially and prayerfully supporting missionaries.
There is a doctrinal dispute about whether there are differences in salvation from Old Testament and New Testament and from Church Age to Daniel's 70th week.

The controversy stems from those who are depending more on logic and the writings of other men than they are the plain words of scripture. Anyone who will read and believe the word of God will soon see that the argument is a useless waste of time.
Please note the following:
1. Faith is different in the Old Testament than it is in the New Testament.
In the Old Testament works produced faith. In Habakkuk 2:4 we read, "Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith."
In the New Testament although Paul is quoting Habakkuk 2:4 under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, he leaves out one word all three times he quotes it (Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38). For example: "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith".
Today we understand that it is faith that produces works---and faith comes by "hearing and hearing by the word of God." Today we do not have to obey God in order to receive the faith to be saved. We do not work to get saved. After salvation, we work because we are saved.
Upon one’s belief on Jesus Christ and His finished work, the faith that justifies the believer before God is the "faith of Jesus Christ." He fulfilled the Old Testament law. It is His life, His righteousness, and His faith imputed to the sinner that justifies the saint before God. The "faith" of Jesus Christ was not available to the sinner until Jesus Christ fulfilled the law. "But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed...But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster." (Galatians 3:22-25)
2. The ministry of the blood of Jesus is different from the dispensation of grace than it will be in Daniel's 70th week.
Notice in Revelation 1:5b it says: "...Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood." However in Revelation 7:14 it says: "...These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."
The first verse deals with the church age saints and says we were washed from our sins by the blood of Christ. The other deals with the tribulation saints and says they washed their own robes (an element of works!) in the blood of the Lamb.
3. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is different in the church age, than it was in the Old Testament and than it will be in the tribulation period.
"To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, than an heir of God though Christ." Galatians 4:5-7
During the "Day of Salvation" the ministry of the Holy Spirit is three-fold:
a. Before salvation - He reproves of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16) by the "sword of the Spirit" (Ephesians 6:17). He reveals to the sinner his lost condition by the scriptures.
b. During salvation - He indwells and seals unto through the Day of Salvation until the next day, the Day of Redemption.
c. After salvation - He fills and empowers the believer to be a witness of Jesus Christ.
4. The Gospel of Grace preached in the Day of Salvation is not the Gospel of the Kingdom that will be preached in the seven-year tribulation period.
The gospel we preach is the death of Christ for sins, according to the scriptures, His burial, and His bodily resurrection according to the scriptures (I Corinthians 15:1-4). The Gospel of the Kingdom that was preached by Jesus Christ and the apostles was "the good news" of the kingdom and did not involve the death, burial, and resurrection! As a matter of fact, after the apostles had been preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom for over three years Christ spoke to them of His death and resurrection and "... they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken" (Luke 18:34)
The Gospel of the Kingdom (not the Gospel of Grace) is the message which will be preached by Moses, Elijah, and the 144,000 Jewish male virgins during the tribulation period (Matthew. 24:13,14; Revelation 7:1-9; 11:1-12). Today if anyone preaches any other gospel than the Gospel of Grace, they are to be accursed (Galatians 1:6-10). Why? Because this is the DAY OF SALVATION!
Notice that in Romans chapter 11, the primary context is God's dealing with Israel. During this dispensation of grace, God is not primarily dealing with Israel. He is calling out a gentile bride for His Son. Following the Church Age, God will once again resume His dealings with Israel as a nation (Romans 11:25:27). With the context in mind, allow your attention to be drawn to verse 6 of Romans 11 as it stresses the special grace that has been "dispensed" in this age or dispensation: "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work."
In this verse is shown the system changing from salvation by works to salvation by grace (Old Testament to Church Age), then returning from grace to works (Church Age to tribulation). Passages such as Matthew 24:13, Hebrews 3:6 and14, and Revelation 12:17 show clearly that works, along with faith, play a part in the justification of a saint in the tribulation. While it is true that the blood of Jesus also plays a part (Revelation 12:11), do not forget there is a difference in the application of the blood to the tribulation saint (Revelation 7:14). In the tribulation the saint himself applies the blood to his robes on a daily basis. The common way of handling tribulation passages dealing with salvation for those who argue that salvation is the same in every age is to claim these passages deal with physical salvation. Lest you become fooled by such nonsense, see these passages: Matthew 10:17-23; 24:9; Mark 13:12,13; Luke 21:16; John 16:2; and Revelation 6:9-11; 12:11; 17:12; 20:4.
The shedding of the blood of animals for the Old Testament saint pointed to the future atonement. To the tribulation saint, the blood shed on Calvary's cross will serve to them as a present atonement (not our present, but theirs). For if they sin willfully there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins (Hebrews 10:26). The Kingdom age began with the public ministry of John the Baptist and the Lord Jesus Christ. It was interrupted because of Israel's rejection of their Messiah. After the age of Grace, the Kingdom dispensation will resume. But today, salvation has already been completed. It is a past atonement. The present application of the blood serves only in regards to fellowship with God. In contrast to both the Old Testament and the 70th week of Daniel, truly "now is the day of salvation."
It has never been later than it is right NOW! One day the trump shall sound, the dead in Christ shall rise and those of us who are saved and remain will be caught up to be with Christ forever! At the Rapture, the Church Age ends as does the Day of Salvation. Once this "day" is over, you never will have that chance to witness to the lost again. There will not be another Sunday for you to get started back in church. Not one more dime will you have to give to missions. For all that delayed in repenting and believing upon Jesus Christ, "later" will never come! "..behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (II Corinthians 6:2)
II. THE DAY OF REDEMPTION
"And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. "Ephesians 4:30
I Thessalonians 5:23 tells us the make-up of a person. He is "Body, Soul, and Spirit". Man is a trinity. Before salvation, man's body is depraved, his spirit is dead, and his soul is damned because of the inherited sin nature. "Turning over a new leaf" will not change things for the unsaved man; he must be born again (John 3:3). Actually there is an operation that will solve man's problem. The physician is the Holy Spirit and His instrument is the word of God. This operation has been funded through the sacrifice of Christ. He made the sacrifice-body, soul, and spirit.

In Christ's dying words He cries, "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit". In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus Christ informs His disciples, "My soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death.." (Matthew 26:38). At the cross of Calvary, Christ paid for our soul and spirit. When a sinner fully trusts Christ to save him, a wonderful thing happens: "In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:" (Colossians 2:11)
At the moment of salvation, the Sword of the Spirit frees our soul and spirit from our flesh. We are right then redeemed by the precious Blood of Christ (I Peter 1:18,19).
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)
This explains Romans 6:6-14 and the command given in Galatians 5:16, "..Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh". The body has not been redeemed yet. It is still corrupt and sinful by nature. Yet the Bible plainly declares that Jesus Christ reconciled us to God destroying the wall of partition between us and God "in His Flesh", (Ephesians 2:12-16).
Therefore the Believer in Christ has been bought and paid for--- body, soul, and spirit. The moment one believes on Jesus Christ, the soul is redeemed, the spirit is regenerated, but the body is only reserved and awaits the glorification. It has been paid for, but it has not been claimed as of yet. "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory." (Ephesians 1:13,14)
The day of redemption is the day Christ returns and the "dead in Christ" rise first (The bodies of the saved that have died) and we which are alive are changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye. At this time we receive "the image" Adam lost in the garden - the image of God. Note the following scriptures: "And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body...For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren" (Romans 8:23,29); "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself" (Philippians 3:20,21); "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not. Beloved now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is"(1 John 3:1,2)
Those who miss the truth of the believer's glorified body are unable to recognize who the "dead in Christ" and who "those which sleep in Jesus" are and usually end up believing the heresy of "soul sleep" and a general resurrection. Yet it is a wonderful truth that when the believer dies, he is in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ (II Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:21-23). When Jesus returns for the living saints on earth, they will come with Him (I Thessalonians 4:13,14) and their bodies will be raised up in the image of Christ (Romans 8:11; See also - I Corinthians 15:51-58; II Corinthians 5:1-5; I Thessalonians 4:16,17; and
I Thessalonians 1:10). For all those who have buried loved ones in a hole in the ground; for all those who suffer with headaches, backaches, toothaches, bad hearts, bad nerves, bad eyes, bad hearing, etc., there is a great day coming. The bodies of saints departed and the bodies of the living saints will be glorified by the Spirit of God and fashioned into the image of Christ! It is the blessed "Day of Redemption!"
III. THE DAY OF CHRIST
"So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord
Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 1:7,8)
The Day of Christ is a little more difficult to explain. It holds possible reference to three events: the Rapture of the Church, the Judgment Seat of Christ, and the Marriage of the Lamb as referred to in Revelation 19:7-9. Most definitely it refers to the Judgment Seat of Christ. The above reference (I Corinthians 1:7,8) may point towards the Rapture, but it is definitely a reference to the Judgment of the saints, "That ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ." He speaks of being blameless because of an examination that will take place at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the Day of Jesus Christ:"(Philippians 1:6). We again have a reference that indirectly points to the Rapture and directly to the Judgment Seat of Christ. To further explain, we who are saved are to be anxiously awaiting the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ in the clouds. When He does come, "the dead in Christ" will rise first, then "we which are alive". We are "translated" (Hebrews 11:5) from this planet through the universe, past "the Great Deep", and into the literal presence of the Godhead. Present in Heaven are the faithful Old Testament saints, angels, seraphims, cherubims, and now the Church, the espoused Bride of Christ! As all of heaven looks on, the Judgment Seat of Christ begins (II Corinthians 5:10,11; Romans 14:9-11). One by one and one on one, we who are saved look squarely into the eyes of Him "Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world," (Galatians 1;4). We are going to account for the use of the breath He gave us, the voice He gave us, the mind He gave us, the money He gave us, the family He gave us and for the church He gave us. Many have imagined that there will be a big screen with a review of our lives on it, but the Bible says, "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." (Romans 14:12). In other words, you will not be sitting back as if at some theatre, but rather by your words you will give an accurate and precise reckoning of your life. Another reference which definitely points to the Judgment Seat of Christ is Philippians 2:16, "Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain".
There are five crowns that can be gained at the Judgment Seat of Christ along with other rewards:
1. I Corinthians 9:27 - the incorruptible crown of victory. This crown will be awarded to those who keep their body in subjection. This pertains to maintaining a good testimony so one does not become a "cast away" following preaching to someone else.
2. I Thessalonians 2:19 - the soul winner's crown. Those who were reached with the gospel of Christ through our efforts will represent this crown. Those who get saved through our witness, whether by tracts printed and passed out, or by door to door visitation, public ministry, or missions will be our crown of rejoicing.
3.II Timothy 4:8 - the crown of righteousness. This crown will be obtained by being heavenly minded and desiring the appearing of Christ. Our motive must be pure---not just wanting to leave but also desiring to see and be with the Lord Jesus Christ.
4. James 1:12 - the crown of life. Those who are granted this crown will have endured trials, tribulation, and temptation. This is also known as the "martyr’s crown."
5. I Peter 5:1-4 - the crown of glory. This crown will be earned through faithfulness in leadership and discipleship.
"The Day of Christ" is the time when it is discovered whether or not certain Church Age saints will receive an inheritance, or whether they squandered their inheritance by walking after the flesh (Galatians 5:16-23). It is the day when certain saints will receive no rewards because they would not bear the reproach of Christ and suffer with Him. Others will receive rewards but then will suffer loss of rewards because they suffered with the wrong motive. Others will glorify God through Jesus Christ because they faithfully suffered with the right motive and their works will be preserved through the fire of the Judgment Seat of Christ.
Other than the five crowns, we should take notice:
a. Proverbs 25:21,22 says there is a reward for having the right attitude concerning your enemies.
b. Matthew 5:11,12 says there is a reward for enduring persecution.
c. Matthew 6:1-21 Christ speaks of the reward of private devotions - unpublicized giving, private prayer, and secret fastings.
d. Matthew 10:41,42 shows the reward of service to others for the glory of Jesus Christ.
e. I Corinthians 3:8 says there is a reward for watering and planting.
Why should we want rewards? We should desire rewards because who gets the glory by our rewards. Jesus Christ does! (Philippians 2:13) We should desire heavenly rewards because of who is giving them. Jesus Christ is! We should desire heavenly rewards because of the reign, and with whom we will be reigning. The Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, ultimately Jesus Christ gets the glory for our being rewarded at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

Therefore "the Day of Christ" while directly pointing to the Judgment Seat of Christ, indirectly points to the Rapture of the church (the Judgment Seat of Christ follows the Rapture), and the Marriage of the Lamb. How does it indirectly refer to the Marriage of the Lamb? The Bible says He is keeping the church "blameless" in the Day of Christ. Why? "That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish"
(Ephesians 5:27). The context of this verse is Ephesians 5:25-33 that deals with "husbands and wives". The Marriage of the Lamb follows the Judgment Seat of Christ. Keep in mind these things occur in heaven and are "triggered" off by Jesus Christ, the Bridegroom calling up His bride. While these glorious things happen in heaven God's Wrath and Satan is loosed on earth for those who rejected Christ and missed the Rapture.
This explains why in II Thessalonians 2:1-3 a church was worried that the Day of Christ was going on and they were not in heaven. Therefore you can disregard C.I. Scofield's explanation in note number (2) on I Corinthians 1:8. He is wrong. Of course any man who begins his explanation by "The A.V. has incorrectly..." is wrong. The Bible is correct. It is the theology of men that needs adjustment.
"Wherefore we labour, that whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences" (II Corinthians 5:9-11)
While it is only proper to be awaiting the "Day of Christ" with fearful anticipation, it is a huge mistake to ignore it and never think on it. God has marked this day on His calendar. We who are saved will all be there!
V. THE DAY OF HIS WRATH
or The Battle of that Great Day of God Almighty -

"...to gather them to the Battle of that Great DAY of God Almighty" (Revelation 16:14b)
"And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" (Revelation 6:16,17)
Peace on Earth? Forget it! There are bigger and better wars for the future, and here is one that involves the Creator of the Universe! All the peace talks will fail. The stage has been set for the final scene during the last days of the "Church Age" (Day of Salvation), but all the characters are not in place yet. For one, the church must be called up before the tribulation period can begin, as this period is called "The time of Jacob's trouble." Once the church is gone, the Beast must be in power so that he can bring about his plans. "Disarmament" is only a prelude for "the Beast" to take over. The Beast (or Antichrist) will take over the United Nations and will command a satanic military of two hundred million men (Revelation 9:16). He will be a religious and political leader as he dictates buying and selling and worship (Revelation 13:16,17). He will deceive the Nation of Israel during the tribulation by a "seven year peace plan" (Daniel 11:21-25; 8:9-12, 23-25; 9:24-27). He is literally Satan on earth and death and hell will follow him (Revelation 6)! He is the superman for which all false religions yearn. He is the superior genius for which "science, falsely so called" has waited the past 1800 years. He is the great philosopher and the most "politically correct" politician and world leader CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, Republicans, Democrats, etc., ever heralded. He will seem to be the solution to all of man's imaginary problems. He will be feared, respected, and worshipped by the world (Revelation 13:8). He will have a charismatic "false prophet" who will deceive the world by his signs, wonders, and miracles. The high esteem in which the Beast will be held will be because of his great military genius.
"And they worshipped the Dragon which gave power unto the Beast: and they worshipped the Beast, saying, Who is like unto the Beast? who is able to make war with him?"
Who can make war with the Beast? John says, "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war" (Revelation 19:11).
How dreadful to fight an eternal, all-powerful Being who knows every hair on every soldier's head! How dreadful to fight One who is no longer subject to death. How dreadful to fight He Who has eyes "as a flame of fire" (Revelation 1:14)! How dreadful to fight He Who was rejected, mocked and tortured as "the Lamb of God" (John 1:29), but now the Lamb is going to be revealed to a rebellious world as "the Lion of the Tribe of Judah". When He comes He will be riding a White Horse and there is no reserve. He will be followed by the armies of Heaven (Revelation 19:11-16) and the angels (Matthew 25:31). Full of rage, fury and wrath, He will return to this earth for vengeance. II Thessalonians 1:7-9 states’ "And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angles, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;"
The Day of Wrath begins, overlaps and is directly involved in the next day, the Day of the Lord. Read Joel 2:1-11 and you can find out about the appearance of the army that comes with Christ. "The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name." (Exodus 15:3).
V. THE DAY OF THE LORD
"For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon
every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is
lifted up; and he shall be brought low:" (Isaiah 2:12)
This "Day" is the great day on the calendar. There are more references to this day than any other event or dispensation of the Bible. "But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." (II Peter 3:8)
"The Day of the Lord" is a reference to the one thousand year reign of Christ on the earth (Revelation 20:1-7). When He returns to claim what God promised Him, Christ will be exalted and glorified as God's only begotten Son! He will be honored and praised throughout the whole earth.
Some references to "this Day" are to the last part of the seven year tribulation period and mostly deal with the second coming of Christ and the final battle of the Great Tribulation period (Isaiah 13:6-9; Ezekiel 13:5; 38:3; Joel 1:15; 2:1,11;31; Amos 5:18, 28; Zephaniah 1:7, 14; 14:1; and Malachi 4:5). Although it does not always refer to the Millennial Blessing, but rather to the judgment upon the Nation of Israel and those who persecute the Jews, yet "The Day of the Lord" primarily has the Kingdom of Heaven (literal, visible kingdom - as kingdom of Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece, etc---all were literal, and so will be the Kingdom of Heaven) as its context (Isaiah 4:2; 11:10,11; 12:1-6; 26:1-3; 27:1,2; 28:5; Jeremiah 30:8; and Hosea 2:18-23). Since the Day of the Lord's relation to the final battle of the "time of Jacob's trouble" has been briefly discussed already, we should instead focus on the greater references to the reign of Christ! Although many would scorn the doctrine of Christ's ruling and reigning on earth, the scriptures plainly say that "God had sworn with an oath" to David "that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, He would raise up Christ to sit on his throne" (Acts 2:30). This promise and prophecy was not fulfilled at the first coming, nor has it been fulfilled yet. However some would say, "Christ is seated on that throne today, and is presently reigning". Yet the Lord Jesus Christ said, "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne" (Revelation 3:21). In these words of promise there is a distinction between the throne of God the Father and the throne Christ will sit on in the future with the overcomers.
When will Jesus Christ sit on this throne? "When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory" (Matthew
25:31). This is not a reference to the Rapture (coming for His saints), but it is a reference to the Second Coming (coming with His saints)! Following the return of Christ is the great battle and then the judgment of the nations (Matthew 25:31-46). The judgment of nations will determine which nations will enter the Kingdom of heaven, which will be on the earth.
Will Christ really reign on the earth? "And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and His name one" (Zechariah 14:9) "Behold the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" (Jeremiah 23:5,6) "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this" (Isaiah 9:6,7).
There are many, many prophecies that were not fulfilled at the first coming of Christ that will be fulfilled at the second coming of Christ. Christ received no "government" at His first coming; Judah was not saved; Israel did not dwell safely; He did not sit on the throne of David, nor was He king over all the earth. But rest assured, just as over three hundred prophecies of the first coming were literally fulfilled, five hundred more relating to His second coming will be fulfilled as well! Christ will reign and many of His saints will reign with Him on the earth!
"And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth" (Revelation 5:9,10). These saints are in heaven when this song is sung. They are singing about a future reign where Satan is bound for a period of one thousand years (Revelation 20:1-6), following the calling up of the church and the tribulation period. The curse will be lifted from the earth, and peace will only come when the Prince of Peace has come (Isaiah 11:1-9).
VI. THE DAY OF JUDGMENT

"But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you." (Matthew 11:22)
Both the A-millennial and Postmillennial camps generalize the subject of judgment, not realizing that the Bible plainly presents at least seven different judgments. At least three of these judgments involve believers:
a. The judgment of the believer's sins (Ephesians 1:7; 2:12,13) - The crucifixion of Jesus Christ. At Calvary Christ was in the stead of the sinner, and we were judged guilty. The sin debt was paid in full, and the eternal atonement required was offered. Christ in His body bore the sins of the world and by the shedding of His blood satisfied the justice of God. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ must be received by faith or else the sinner remains dead in his or her sins. Every believer has already been judged for sin when we received Christ's offering for our sins.
b. The judgment of the believer's self (I Corinthians 11:30-32) - This is a judgment which pertains to our fellowship with Christ. It is God judging us as sons. Although our relationship remains unchanged, yet our fellowship will be broken from time to time because of the sins of the flesh committed after salvation. The present judgment requires that we confess these sins and repent, or else God will judge those sins by chastening us (Proverbs 3:11,12).
c. The judgment of the believer's service (Romans 14:10-12) - This is a judgment involving only those who are saved during this present age. It is not to determine whether or not one will go to heaven-that has already been determined through the blood of Jesus Christ. This judgment deals with the quality of the believer’s service (I Corinthians 3:10-14).
Other judgments found in scripture are:
d. The judgment upon the nation of Israel (Jeremiah 30:7) - This is God's chastisement upon Israel for their rejection of His Son, Jesus Christ. It occurs during the seventieth week of Daniel, known as the tribulation period.
e. The judgment upon angels (I Corinthians 6:3) - This is a judgment upon those angels who have fallen and left their first estate.
f. The judgment upon nations (Matthew 25:32-46) - a judgment which determines which nations will enter into the kingdom of heaven and which will not.
g. The White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15) - This is the final judgment. Although there are several judgments in scripture, this is the main one. In referring to this judgment we have the phrase, "judgment day." "In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men..." (Romans 2:16), "He hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world..." (Acts 17:31). It is "the Great White Throne Judgment" (Rev. 20:11-15). All the lost from every age and dispensation will be judged in this "Day". Those in Hell are judged, then "Death and hell are cast into the lake of fire."
The Judgment Seat of Christ is for the Church Age saints alone. Everyone else faces the white throne at the end of "the little season" following the Millennial Reign of Christ. Therefore not only will there be the unsaved from all ages present at this judgment, but also the saints of all ages, with the only exception of the Church Age! This includes the Old Testament saint (Ecclesiastes 12:13,14) and the tribulation and millennial saints.
"And whosoever was not written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" (Revelation 20:15). This reference clearly indicates that some are found! Those who will be found written in the book of life were obedient before the law, under the law, and during the tribulation period and served God through the blood of Christ and by the light they had. But far more on this dreadful day will be lost forever.
There is not a more horrifying picture. The lost will be staring directly into the flaming stare of Omnipotence, and the books are opened. There is no possibility of lying; there are no excuses; there is no one for the lost to blame but themselves. As each vile act is described in detail, the last will be the charge of the rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ. There will be the awful blank where their name could have been recorded....
NO MERCY! ETERNAL DAMNATION IN A LAKE OF FIRE!

Any person who rejects eternal life in Jesus Christ is a fool!
VII. THE DAY OF GOD
"Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness."(II Peter 3:12,13)
In II Peter 3 there are references to three of the seven "days" covered in this study: "Day of the Lord" (vs. 10), "Day of Judgment"(vs. 7), and "the Day of God" (vs. 12). The Day of God is the Eternal Day, with a New Earth & New Heavens. It is spoken of in greater detail in Revelation 21. There will be no time; things will not run down. There will be no death, no sickness, no rebellion, no sin and no sorrow. Glory Forever - Praise His Holy Name!
Mankind has messed up and messed around for six thousand years. The climax of man’s rule on this earth will be "the superman" of the human race - the man of sin, and the greatest vilest rebellion against God and His people. "One day is with the Lord as a thousand years"--- six days, and what has man accomplished? Taxes, persecutions, murders, lies, disease, sexual immorality, politics, more taxes, greed, thefts, hatred, sickness, etc.---nothing that didn't blow up in his own face!
But God has His Day! Hallelujah! "The Day of God" will be rest for the people of God with no more rebellion, "Wherein dwelleth righteousness"!
Eternity! What a thought! No more time elapses. What is done is done. He that is just will be just. He that is filthy will be filthy. Those in Glory will be forever and ever. Those in torments will be forever and ever. Where will you be on God's day? Will you be with Him in Glory or with the Dragon, beast, false prophet, and millions upon millions more in a lake of fire?
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved!
Call on Him today--- while it is still the "Day of Salvation"!
"Are thy days as the days of man? are thy years as man's days," (Job 10:5)
"WHY, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?" (Job 24:1)
THESE ARE SEVEN DAYS THAT ARE MARKED ON GOD'S CALENDAR!
